Professor Sohail Inayatullah is the UNESCO Chair in Futures Studies. He is a political scientist and futurist at Tamkang University, Taipei; an Associate at the Melbourne Business School, the University of Melbourne; and Adjunct Professor at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia.

Sohail Inayatullah is a renowned futurist and a professor at Tamkang University, Taipei. Dubbed as “one of the leading global minds in the field of future studies,” he has been serving as the UNESCO Chair for Future Studies since 2016.
Sohail is the pioneer of Causal Layered Analysis (CLA), a futures technique widely used in strategic planning and future studies. Sohail"s 1998 Futuresarticle introducing CLA has been frequently cited and well-recognized in various futures studies research.

He is fellow at the World Futures Studies Federation and editor-in-chief of the highly influential futures studies journal, Journal of Future Studies and is on the editorial boards of Futures and Foresight.
