Kadir received 1st World Press Photo Prize in the Environmental category as a Dutch documentary photographer. He investigated in six megacities (Jakarta, Tokyo, Lagos, Amsterdam, Sao Paulo and New York) how they manage or mismanage their waste in his project. On Earth Day 51, Kadir van Lohuizen showed the impact of the climate crisis in regions around the world through his exhibition ‘Rising tide: visualizing the human cost of the climate crisis.’ At this opening event, Van Lohuizen spoke virtually about the regional and global impacts of the climate crisis, said Genk Obink, Dutch Bangladesh environmental activist international water affairs envoy Sharif Jamil,a glaciologist at Columbia University"s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory by Kirsty Tinto.
